Hello and welcome to the Project Management Essentials Crash Course - a 2.5-hour long journey through the world of project management!
If you are considering project management for your future career path, or if you are already a project manager but never got a chance to learn project management theory, or if you are planning to obtain the PMP certification but find it too difficult to learn the PMBOK materials, this course could be a good first step for you.
You will get to know project management terminology and make yourself familiar with the five process groups and ten project management knowledge areas, some of them in greater detail than others. You will get to know all 49 processes of the traditional project management approach. You will learn about the critical path and earned value methods, project communications and conflict resolution, project triple constraints, risk management basics and the work breakdown structure.
At the end of the course, we will learn about the key differences between traditional project management methodology and agile project management.
My name is Dmitry Tsitrinel. I am a project manager with 20 years of experience in multiple industries. I am certified in both traditional methodology (PMP) and in agile (PMI-ACP). I worked with clients and vendors in many countries. Most of my clients are here, in Canada.
Ever since I became a project manager, on a number of occasions, my friends and colleagues were asking me questions about project management. They wanted to know what it is like to be a project manager. I trained and mentored many project professionals. Today I want to share what I know with you, just like I did with many friends of mine. Of course, 2.5 hours is not a lot of time to tell you everything, but I will do my best to give you a good taste of project management so that you can use the knowledge that you acquire for your benefit.
See you at the first lesson!
