Work study is a technique used to examination of human work & which lead systematically to investigation of all the factors which affect the efficiency & economy. It deals with optimum utilization of the resources (4 M’S) such as manpower, machines, materials and money (capital) to attain the desired productivity with the minimum possible time.

Performance rating: It is the process of adjudging the actual pace of working of an operator by comparing it with the mental picture of the pace of an operator working at normal speed
