This course covers how to use video as a guide on how to approach animating 3d characters in any given 3d software using video as a reference. The course will dive into the 12 principles of animation and will show you how to convert video into an image sequence usable in Autodesk Maya. I will break down how to import the image sequence in Autodesk Maya, then show you how to position and set up the image sequence as a reference guide when creating key poses for your characters. I will show you how you can nail the timings of your animations correctly using the image sequence. We will also dive into the animation graph editor to smooth out and refine the overall animation. I will also talk about frame rates and playback settings and why they are important depending on what the animation is going to be used for. Finally I will show you a trick to trim videos without having to use a video editor. This course is geared for intermediate animation students who are looking to improve on their animation techniques and animation skills The skills learnt in this course are applicable in any 3d animation package.
