At Mentoring the Middle we always try to engage with ideas on how to improve schools.

Our love for data led us to create analysis tools and now we have decided to create a whole course where we share these tools, but also reflect on which data can and should be used in schools. We want to move school planning and actions from being based on staff ideas and experience, which are biased, into an unbiased and fully data-based system.

This is very important as schools are massive data collectors, but often do not use this data fully or in the best possible way. We also believe that schools often struggle to fully evaluate their actions and effectiveness in a systematic and unbiased way, and so we raise this point on our course and offer ideas and advice to mitigate this.

This data collection without proper future engagement with data devalues the collection and makes it just another unuseful admin task, which will bring further consequences with the quality of the collection itself but also with staff morale and wellbeing.

We believe you will be able to make great use of this course as the ideas and tasks determined for each staff level can actually be used by anyone. The same with the gifts we have given to our learners.
