In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of game development using the Unreal Engine 5 through a series of lectures and tutorials. By the end of the course, you will have built an entire demo game from scratch.
This course is designed for Intermediate developers wanting to to take their game to the next level. However, -ALL LEVELS- of knowledge from beginner to expert are welcome to join in the fun.
The first part of the course will be centered around creating your character controller. We will spend hours tweaking our movement settings and building beautiful camera transitions determined by player inputs. We will create proper animation cache states for Aim Offset weapon handling, as well as FABRIK IK left hand postion anchoring. We will create a 4-way walk cycle while carrying a rifle in Ironsight, Hipfire, and Crouching positions. We will also focus on creating our Gun Actor Component using Data Tables and Blueprint Interface Events to craft a beautiful code base for any Unreal Engine project. Then, you will learn how to script health tracking, inventory, and interaction systems. You will learn about collisions and damage, key concepts for any action game. You will learn how to create user interfaces using the UMG Editor, so you can add things like menus, load screens, and crosshairs to your screen. And finally, you will learn how audio works within the Engine so you can add music, dialogue, and sound effects to your game.
