This exam is an opportunity to demonstrate knowledge of core data concepts and related Microsoft Azure data services. Candidates for this exam must be familiar with the individual or instructor-led learning material for the DP-900 Exam.

This exam is intended for candidates starting out in the cloud data environment.

Candidates should be familiar with relational and non-relational data concepts and with different types of data workloads such as transactional or analytical.

Azure Data Essentials can be used as a build for other Azure role-based certifications, such as Azure Database Administrator or Azure Data Engineer, but is not a prerequisite for any of them.
