This exam measures your ability to describe the following: cloud concepts; Azure architecture and services and Azure management and governance.

Candidates for this exam should have a basic understanding of cloud services and how services are provisioned with Microsoft Azure. The exam is intended for candidates who are just getting started with cloud-based solutions and services, or who are unfamiliar with Azure.

The Azure Fundamentals exam is an opportunity to prove knowledge of cloud concepts, services, workloads, security and privacy in Azure, as well as Azure pricing and support. Candidates should be familiar with general technology concepts, including networking, storage, computing, application support, and application development concepts.

The Azure Fundamentals course can be used to prepare the candidate for other Azure role or specialty based certifications, but is not a prerequisite for any of them.
