This SDLTrados 2021 training will teach you how to get started smoothly with SDL Trados Studio 2021 (and 2019 because this version has a very similar interface). Upon completion of the course, students will be able to translate any document and use the most important features of Trados. This will allow you to freely work in SDL Trados Studio and save the translated document.

The course is based on a practical situations in which we work on a source file, open and translate it into Trados, and then save the translation file for the client.

The course is focused on practical use of Trados' features. Topics covered:

• Introduction to CAT tools,

• An overview of the SDL Trados Studio 2021, & 2019.

• getting ready to work,

• translation memory (TM),

• work in the editor:

• learn the individual elements of the editor and their functions,

• confirming segments,

• explanation of the 100% match,

• explanation of the Fuzzy Match,

• using variables (fast dealing with numbers, dates, hours, etc.)

• create a translation end-of-file,

• An overview of where and how Trados stores its files in Windows.

DISCLAIMER

This course is not about Translation theory. Students are required to have a background in translation before enrolling into the course. We are going to work on the software and how to use its features and not on the translation process itself.
