PRINCE2 is a generic project management methodology. There are two levels of certification for it, the Foundation level, and the more advanced level of Practitioner.
The purpose of the Foundation level is to make sure that the candidate is familiar with the method and can work well in an already established PRINCE2 environment. In Practitioner level, you are supposed to have a deeper understanding of the methodology and enough knowledge to tailor and implement the system.

PRINCE2 Foundation training
Typically, classroom training for PRINCE2 Foundation lasts two and a half days and the examination takes place at the end of the training (this will vary depending on the training provider). You can also self-study for the Foundation exam and you may also choose to take training in another format such as distance learning. Training is delivered by AXELOS' Accredited Training Organizations (ATOs) who set their own rates.
