HELP! MY DOG ACTS UP WHEN I LEAVE HOME!
Are you dealing with destructive behavior when your dog is home alone, such as chewing furniture or walls, going potty inside the house? Excessive barking? What about when you come home? Is your dog suddenly biting? Jumping more than often? Not eating or not taking treats? Barking a lot even when you are home? If so, you are not alone. These behaviors can all be signs of anxiety in dogs. If these behaviors are present only when your dog is left alone, your dog may have separation anxiety. If your dog exhibits these behaviors at times not associated with being left alone, your dog may have anxiety for other reasons. Notably, anxiety for any reason can actually lead to separation anxiety in dogs. And anxiety in dogs rather related to separation or not can be improved with the same management techniques.
