Stereoisomers are different molecules with same molecular formula and same structural formula. Simple IUPAC nomenclature rules give same name to both the isomers. To differentiate them further few rules have been introduced under the name nomenclature of stereo-isomers.

Course includes Cahn-Ingold-Prelog (CIP) priority rules, E-Z nomenclature of alkenes and R-S nomenclture of 'sp3' hybridized carbon.
