Course description: - This is my second course which prepares you for the basic necessary skills to provide care for newborns and infants up to 6 months old. Giving you the basics and general knowledge to understand how the brain develops throughout the most crucial time of a child’s life. We will explore how to develop and recognize milestones for making brain friendly connections to move forward in the child’s development. This course is designed for people entering into childcare, refresher for grandparents, soon to be parents or anyone who is interested in the early years. This course will cover from 0 - 6 months. I am not a Doctor and encourage you to ask your pediatrician if you have concerns or medical questions. I may not have all the answers but I can give you a first hand account of what you can expect. I will give my perspective as a hands on nanny for over 30 years in all sorts of situations. Like any subject especially one so important, experience matters and encourage you to take as many classes you can to expand your knowledge and increase your portfolio. The first thing you must do is get certified for infant CPR! There is an overview and demonstration but it is absolutely essential you are trained properly!
