If you are a sculptor or crafter wanting to make your own molds and casts on a small scale, this class is just what you've been looking for. This course is presented in two parts so that artists can pick and choose how much information they need. This Level 2 portion is aimed at those who have some previous molding and casting experience and are looking to learn more complex techniques. If you need a lesson in the basics of molding and casting, including materials, I highly recommend completing the Level 1 portion of this course beforehand. Together, the two parts form a comprehensive look at the sculpture reproduction process.

In Molding and Casting for Sculptors, I demonstrate how to make several different types of molds over the course of three different projects. We will discuss the materials needed for molding and casting, how to cut and sculptures, mold box building techniques, cutting open silicone molds, creating two part molds, the benefits of pressure casting, cast clean up, and more. At the end of the class, you will have the knowledge to start building your own molds and making your own casts.

Students will need to purchase materials in order to complete this class. Materials list with recommended brands and buying locations will be provided. Previous molding and casting experience is not necessary. Beginner and experienced mold makers alike will learn plenty of new concepts, tips, and techniques in this class.
