Class Project – Poster Design
You’re project is to create your own poster or cover art using the tools & techniques learnt so far in this course. You must demonstrate all the items in the following list.
Choose a word
e.g. Something creative, intriguing, or meaningful.
Image
Use one of your own images or one from Unsplash own image or a new image from.
Image masking
Ensure the image you choose will have a clean background for easy masking or cutting out.
Typography
Create typography in a perspective that is visually interesting.
Shadow
Have at least 1 shadow for you masked image, to create realism.
Small Text
Choose a small phrase to create hierarchy and typographic contrast.
Textures
Include some textures for a more dynamic composition.
Layer Styles
Use Hue and Saturation to make images pop with contrast.
Presentation
You must present your postcard in a way that you feels best represents your work.
Save & Share
Save a JPEG copy of your document or take a screenshot. Share your work on the suggestions above. I’ll do my best to offer any suggestions if you ask for them.
To save a JPEG, go to File > Save As and choose JPEG from the save options.
